DOUCHE BAG

Koh Phangan Douche Bag

Description: A douche is a device used to introduce a stream of water into the body for medical or hygienic reasons. The word can refer to the rinsing of any body cavity but usually applies to the vagina. Vaginal douching has a variety of perceived benefits. In addition to promising to clean the vagina of unwanted odors, it can also be used by women who wish to have intercourse during menstruation, in order to avoid blood smearing the penis. In the past, douching was also used after intercourse as a method of birth control, though it is not very effective

Usage: Oh Becki, you're such a douche bag!

Foreign Commonwealth Office UK issues warning about Koh Phangan Island    Read more
Posted by: Becki on Friday, July 04, 2008 - 05:52 PM
High Alert Koh Phangan's secret Island News Headquarters just received the newest alert via the google alert system and this is definitely worth posting - enjoy ;-)

Foreign Commonwealth Office UK warns of gang attacks at Full Moon parties!

The infamous Full Moon Party at Haad Rin beach on the island of Koh Phangan in Thailand has become a fixture on the backpacker circuit but the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is warning revellers to extremely beware.

This updated advice has been prompted by a number of incidents this year "where western tourists have been victims of vicious unprovoked assaults by gangs", the FCO reports.

Official advice is now to take extreme care when around the bars in Haad Rin beach, particularly late at night and around the time of the Full Moon parties.

The FCO goes as far as suggesting people avoid the area (Island of Madness - Koh Phangan) altogether if possible.

Koh Phangan FMP – Petra Looking For Darren    Read more
Posted by: Becki on Friday, June 27, 2008 - 08:50 AM
Full Moon Party Hello ... my name is Petra and I have been to the infamous Full Moon Party at Koh Phangan on May 20th.

I was there with my Thai soul mate and my son. Everything could have been kind of dangerous but we met a nice English guy called Darren (view picture to the left) who really took care of us the whole visit on Kho Pha-Ngan. Actually, without him we would have even had problems to get back to Koh Samui as we lost all our money.

Yep ... a typical Koh Phangan Full Moon Party experience ;-)

Unfortunately I lost Darren’s Thai mobile number, being kind of muzzy the next few days. We'd really like to get in contact with Darren to thank him and keep in touch. If anybody recognizes Darren in the picture to the left and knows his contact address, phone number or email address then please contact me at petrawaehning@t-online.de

    Thank you so much!
    Petra

Two British Tourists brutally attacked on Koh Phangan Island!    Read more
Posted by: Becki on Wednesday, June 04, 2008 - 05:04 AM
High Alert Well … this story might not be up-to-date but Island News Headquarters got contacted quite a few times in the last couple of weeks and so this story needs to be published as a warning to other tourists visiting the island of madness, formerly also known as Koh Phangan Paradise Island.

    First Contact:

You say this web page is uncensored. I would like to know if you would run a story on the fact that my daughter and her boyfriend that were nearly killed by a man living there on April 13th 2008. He brutally assaulted them both - they neither knew him nor had even spoken to him. He has not been arrested for the crime and people need to be warned!

    Second Contact:

Thank you for your reply. I have forwarded your email onto my daughter who was attacked there. She and her boyfriend were followed and both beaten unconscious for no reason by a resident guy there that they neither knew nor had even spoken to. The guy who attacked them is connected to a local bar there so people need to be warned because next time he will kill someone - we are lucky they are both alive. She will give you all the facts and details and will be in contact with you during the course of the week.

The incident was reported to the local police who have done nothing even though there was an independent resident witness! - it has also been reported to the British Embassy there. I see there is a tourist that went missing on Koh Phangan in February 2008 - there may be a connection who knows?

Koh Phangan Elephant Trekking Tours    Read more

Travel Tips Are you looking for a little adventure during your holiday? If you are, then how about a ride on an elephant? Where else will you have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed ride on mountain paths through the palm forests on the back of a gentle elephant?

To the Thai people, elephants symbolize strength an therefore, they are worshipped in a special way. A lot of artwork, temples and souvenirs are often decorated with elephants. Moreover, in Thailand, anyone who murders or even beats an elephant may face imprisonment for up to thirty years.

Right now, eight elephants live at our trekking facility which is approximately ten thousand square meters with a small lake where the where the elephants bathe daily. Our facility was designed to meet the special needs of our precious pachyderms. They even receive a yearly check-up from a government appointed veterinarian. He checks their health, immunizes them and makes sure that they are being properly cared for. And so, life for the elephants here in southern Thailand is much easier than in the logging camps of the north. There, elephants had to work very hard dragging and moving huge hardwood trees and only had life expectancies of fifty or sixty years. In contrast carrying tourists is an easy walk in the park and here they can live for eighty or even one hundred years!

Police Chief and District Chief of Koh Phangan Island finally being transfered!    Read more
Posted by: Becki on Monday, April 28, 2008 - 06:26 AM
General Information Koh Phangan's chief of police was finally transferred immediately to 8th Regional Police Bureau yesterday following his failure to curb rising crime on the island of madness, formerly also known as Koh Phangan Paradise Island.

Pol Col Wutichai Hanhabun will work at the bureau for 120 days or until an inquiry team finishes a disciplinary investigation, according to an order signed by bureau chief Tani Tawitsri, who oversees the South of Thailand.

Pol Lt-Gen Tani decided to take harsh action against Koh Phangan's police chief after a number of complaints about tourists' safety and alleged rifts among state agencies.

Surat Thani governor Vinai Buapradit had said earlier that he was very much disappointed with Koh Phangan police and also Koh Phangan's district chief (Nai Amphoe) over their passive crackdown on island's crimes. He is also preparing to transfer the district chief (Nai Amphoe) out of the area.

General Information Finally, the "party zone" issue on the island of madness, formerly also known as Koh Phangan Paradise Island, has received nation wide recognition by one of Thailand's leading newspapers – The Nation – Thailand's biggest business daily.

Saturday 22nd March 2008 the friendly and supportive team of un-corrupted and un-censored journalists, Oliver Benjamin and Phoowadon Duangmee, from the Thailand nation wide newspaper The Nation, took an even closer look on current "Party Zone" activities on Koh Pha-Ngan Island in the South of Thailand.

    Beneath the troubled Moon!

Suddenly Koh Phangan's rave parties are being shut down early. Is this a peace that will last?

The residents of Koh Phangan and the backpackers who gravitate there see the full moon differently. For the visitors, it's the signal for a wild and possibly once-in-a-lifetime beach party. For the citizens, it means yet another sleepless night.
